Parkinson’s disease (PD), is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. As the disease worsens, non-motor symptoms become more common. The symptoms usually emerge slowly. Early in the disease, the most obvious symptoms are shaking, rigidity, slowness of movement, and difficulty with walking. Thinking and behavioral problems may also occur. Dementia becomes common in the advanced stages of the disease. Depression and anxiety are also common, occurring in more than a third of people with PD. Other symptoms include sensory, sleep and emotional problems.
A program of exercise/physiotherapy can be an important part of healthy living with Parkinson’s disease. People living with Parkinson’s have found that therapy can improve quality of life issues that they might be experiencing, including:
- Fine Motor Skills
- Walking
- Balance
Many people choose to continue their exercises at home with a trainer, such as an APT Trainer.
- Start with five minutes, low-intensity cycling.
- Cycle for 30 minutes, at light-moderate intensity (11-14 on the Borg RPE**).
- Finish with five minutes of low-intensity cycling.
*Please consult your physician or physical therapist prior to training.

When my father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s we were all devastated. The fact is, there is no cure for Parkinson’s, but options like APT help him work on his fine motor skills and slow down the disease.
I called Tzora to find out if it was worth it for me to make the purchase of the APT. Of course I expected them to say yes, but instead they transferred me to a clinic where they told me for my condition some other options are better. I really do appreciate the honesty. Thank you.
Working on fine motor skills is critical for living with Parkinson’s disease, Tzora did a great job in producing a piece of equipment that targets this. Thank you Tzora for the APT 1
I was lucky to have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s in its early stages. I took immediate action to slow it down. The first thing that I did was to enroll in dancing lessons and the second was to buy the APT by Tzora. I am still a terrible dancer but at least I have the stamina to dance thanks to active training options. Thank you Tzora.
The shaking has finally been so much better! After years of effort, nothing has helped until my father started using the APT on a regular basis. Thank you so much to Tzora for this amazing recommendation and to Dan who was so patient with me on the phone and explaining what the machine is, how to use it and where we could use it.
I recommend the APT for anyone suffering from Parkinson’s as it has helped my uncle so much! He does his physical therapy from home every day and it has helped him so much and we have noticed a lot less shaking! Thank you Tzora.
Parkinson’s disease is a disease that is not easy to deal with and I have seen my father suffer for years. The shaking is so scary and uncontrollable and all the other side effects that come with it. It is so important to keep up with physical therapy and having the option to do so from the comfort of your own home is more than you could ever ask for. Thanks Tzora for giving us this option.
My grandfather has had Parkinson’s for the past four years and my family has been traumatized by its effects. We never knew how we could help him and his situation was getting worse by the month. Last year we heard about this company called Tzora from our physical therapist and he really recommended it to us. We did some research about the APT and we found out the benefits it could provide us with. We called Tzora and were so pleased with their service and patience and decided to give it a shot. Our doctor set it up so it would send him the data directly. The improvement and satisfaction have been indescribable. Thank you so much to the Tzora team for their amazing customer service and trainers that they sell.
Thank you Tzora for the fast shipping and amazing customer service!
My sister was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s and I knew about the APT from one of my friends. I bought my sister one and her doctors have applauded me for the purchase. Thank you Tzora for providing individuals with this technology!
My father suffers from Parkinson’s and the APT helps him so much at making the shaking better! Thank you Tzora.
So thankful to Tzora for being so helpful with my purchase of the APT. I really needed this machine, which my physical therapist recommended to me. It arrived at my house even before the promised date. I am so excited to start my training with it!
Thank you Tzora for your amazing customer service and fast delivery of the APT. It has helped my father and his shaking due to Parkinson’s disease. We are so pleased with the machine and truly recommend it to anyone suffering the same thing.
My wife suffers from Parkinson’s and I wanted to say that for years we have been looking for a solution such as the APT-1. I am so grateful for this machine as she can do her daily exercises right from home in her comfort zone and still get all the data sent out to her doctors.
Hello, six years ago, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. I have been to every clinic and sport center around my area, trying to figure out what works best for me. Getting there has been such a hassle. I was looking for an alternative solution and when I found the exact same machine that I use at my doctor’s sold on Tzora’s website, I was close to tears. I finally found an easier way to maintain my progress without all the pain that comes with it. Now I use my APT daily. This topic is very sensitive to me as I have been suffering for years from all the outcomes of this disease and Tzora has given me a bit of hope. Thank you to their amazing team and the support that they have given me, answering all my questions I have had even after making my purchase.
Thank you to the Tzora team for having such amazing customer service! I love my new APT and hope to see progress in the upcoming months!
When this whole Coronavirus pandemic closed my father’s clinic, I was very worried about how he was going to continue his therapy. His therapy was really helping him control the shaking from his Parkinson’s. I got in touch with a couple of doctor friends and they recommended that I investigate the APT-1 from Tzora. From the minute I called, you guys have been great. Thanks for making sure it arrived at his house, for helping me set it up and for explaining to me how it works. I am truly thankful to the entire Tzora team
Having Parkinson’s is not easy, not only for me, but also for my family and everyone who surrounds me. Therefore, I am taking time to personally write this review and thank Tzora for having assisted me so much in my therapy. The APT-1 is an amazing machine; very light and simple, and it is a critical part of my therapy at home.
I was so impressed by the APT that I decided to buy one. The best thing about this product is that it responds to tired legs. If I stop cycling, the machine takes over. It helps me in taking control my life.
After a few months of using the APT, my walking skills have greatly improved.
The APT has improved my motor control and allows me to do things I could not have done before.
After I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, I had problems with all kinds of fine motor skills as well as with writing. I also had balance and coordination problems, which limited my walking and cycling. Now I train with the APT one or two times a day for 40 minutes (20 minutes arms and 20 minutes legs) using passive-assist, active or passive. When I’m training with my own muscle strength and getting tired after a while, it is great that the motor takes over again. But the special thing for me is that I can train in my own private environment.
The regular use of the APT Trainer has made considerable improvements of my Parkinson’s symptoms.
I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2010. One year later I started using the APT in my home. I use it for my arms and leg twice a day. After a few weeks there was a substantial improvement to my writing and fine motor skills.
